If you use public transportation, be sure to check the this announcement regarding changes in bus routes and schedules.

Trimet just reported the following:

Effective Sunday, September 2, 2012, we are adjusting schedules, routes and/or stops on 29 bus lines and adding 2 new lines. Among those changes, we’ll be cutting some low-ridership trips on 8 bus lines and adding trips to reduce overcrowding on 7 bus lines. Two new MAX stations will open at Portland State University, making it easier to access more of the campus directly by transit.

To increase operating efficiency, we’re reconfiguring 17 bus routes that run relatively close together in Northwest PortlandNorth/Northeast Portland and Beaverton: lines 6, 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 47, 48, 67, 70, 73, 77, 82, 87, 89 and 94. In addition, we’re cutting low-ridership trips on 8 bus lines: 15, 18, 36, 37, 43, 50, 55 and 59. We’ll also be adding trips to reduce overcrowding on 7 bus lines: 4, 9, 33, 35, 44, 76 and 94.
